The Gabba, ay. Fun while it lasted.

5′: Ablett is nailed in a tackle, right onto that bung left shoulder. That’ll test it. Ball up deep inside Geelong attacking 50.

5′: And Cam Guthrie gives it his best effort! What a goal!

An absolute bomb from Geelong’s best player so far, and the Cats needed that.

6′: Cats find Guthrie on the edge of the 50, and he’ll line up. It’ll take his best effort…

7′: The Tigers are swarming now! Dangerfied tried to burst through a huge pack but was confronted by at least three Tigers, bringing him down holding the ball. Two kicks later and another flash at goal from the pocket, but it’s rushed through for a behind.

7′: And Kamdyn McIntosh makes it two in a minute!

Dusty won the ball on the wing and spotted up Baker with a clever kick into the middle. One more handball to McIntosh, who stroked it home from 50 on the run. Lovely finish.

Meanwhile, Ablett is back on the field and lining up in the forward line.

Here’s Gaz earlier.

By the way, since 2014 the team who kicked the first goal in a grand final has lost the grand final.

8′: Dion Prestia has the first goal of the grand final!

A hack inside 50, a chain of handballs and the little midfielder was in space 30 out, directly in front. A tidy snap, and the grand final has its first goal scorer.

8′: Baker launches Richmond forward but Taylor beats Lynch to the ball, cleverly moving it over and out. Ablett looks sore on the boundary line, but just you try and stop him.

13′: Jayden Short streams away for the Tigers with two bounces, but his rushed kick is marked by Stewart. Tigers rush another long kick forward, but at the moment both defences are holding up well.

14′: So Nick Vlaustin is driven off the ground with a neck brace on.

No sign of Ablett, not sure if it’s a shoulder or a lower arm problem. Either way, he was very sore. What a remarkable start to this grand final.

14′: Well this is quite something. Vlaustin will need to be stretchered off, and his teammates are getting to him one by one. At least that suggests he is responsive.

Meanwhile Ablett has left the field for treatment.

Here’s the Vlaustin moment.

14‘: First free kick of the game as Lynch catches Miers high on centre wing. Cats begin their position play for the first time – but it’s cut off by Graham in midfield.

They’re dropping like flies here! Nick Vlaustin has been knocked out cold by Patrick Dangerfield, while Gary Ablett is holding his arm and is in agony.

The game stops for Vlaustin, but Ablett looks like he may have broken his arm.
